D’Arby Myers hits in 32nd game as RockHounds walkoff again

In the last two games the Midland RockHounds have had to come from behind to beat the San Antonio Missions.  Tonight both the Missions and the RockHounds scored 4 times each in the 9th inning.  The result was another walkoff for the RockHounds.  Chad Oberacker sealed the Missions fate when he smashed an 0-1 pitch to right field for a double scoring Max Muncy and Josh Whitaker.  Mike DeMark picked up his 3rd win of the season, raising his record to 3-3 with a 5.84 ERA.  The big hitter of the night was right fielder Josh Whitaker who was 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 3 RBIs.

The other key story line tonight was D’Arby Myers extending his hitting streak to 32 games.  Tonight D’Arby was 2 for 5 with a double and 1 RBI.  D’Arby did not waste any time as he smacked a RBI double scoring Conner Crumbliss in the bottom of the 1st inning.  D’Arby’s other hit was a single that came in the bottom of the 7th off Missions reliever Matt Branham.

The RockHounds and the Missions wrap up the season series tomorrow at 7:00 pm as Murphy Smith (8-8, 3.59 ERA) is on the mound for the RockHounds against Matt Wisler (8-4, 2.67 ERA) for the Missions.
