RiverCats playoff hopes come to an end

For the second time in 2 nights an Oakland Athletics affiliate had their playoff hopes crushed.  Friday night was the Stockton Ports and last night was the Sacramento RiverCats.  The RiverCats entered play last night 2 games behind the Las Vegas 51s in the PCL South Division with 3 games to play.  In order for the RiverCats to make the playoffs they would have had to win all 3 games while the 51s lost all 3 games.  Last night the opposite happened.  The RiverCats lost 4-0 to the Tacoma Rainiers while the Las Vegas 51s beat the Tucson Padres 8-6.

Sacramento will finish out the 2013 season with 2 more games in Tacoma on Sunday and Monday.  On the season the RiverCats have posted a 78-64 record so far.  In spite of not making the playoff it has been a great season!
