Michael Choice collects first major league hit

Oakland Athletics #2 Prospect Michael Choice collected his first major league hit on Tuesday night against the Texas Rangers.  Michael tapped a 2-0 pitch up the third base line and beat out the throw by pitcher Martin Perez.  Martin’s throw pulled the first baseman Mitch Moreland off the bag, but the play was ruled a hit because it looked like Michael beat the throw.  It wasn’t glamorous, the ball traveled all of 40 feet, but it’s a hit.

On Tuesday, Michael went 1 for 3 in the loss to the Rangers.  This brings his career totals to 1 for 5, a decent start for the former 1st round draft pick.
