Profile
Renato Nunez was signed as a Non-Drafted Free Agent exactly 2 years after the Oakland Athletics No. 3 ranked prospect Michael Ynoa was signed.  The 19 year-old Nunez spent his first gull professional season with the Class-A Beloit Snappers.  In 2013 Renato batted .258 in 128 games with 27 doubles, 19 home runs and 85 RBIs.  Renato was named as the starter at 3rd base for the 2013 Midwest League All-Star Game.  In the game Nunez was 2 for 3 with 2 singles.

Since signing with the Oakland Athletics Nunez has shot up through the minor league system.  Renato played with the DSL Athletics in 2011.  In 53 games he hit .268 while driving in 28 runs.  In 2012 Renato played in 42 games with the AZL Athletics hitting .325 with 18 doubles.  Each year his power has increased in 2013 he hit a career high 19 home runs with the Beloit Snappers.

We project that Renato Nunez will play with the Stockton Ports in 2014.  If so, this will be the 2nd year in a row that a Top Prospect will play with the Ports under the age of 21.  Addison Russell was just 19 during his season with the Ports.  Renato will be 20 during the 2014 season.
