Profile
Entering his first full professional season, Daniel Robertson was ranked as the No. 7 Top Prospect in the Oakland Athletics organization.  The young shortstop did not disappoint in his rookie campaign.  He hit .277 with 21 doubles and 9 home runs.  In the stretch run Daniel heated up batting .314 with 5 home runs in the month of August.

After being drafted in the 1st round of 2012, Daniel made his Pro Debut with the AZL Athletics. In 29 games he excelled batting .291 while driving in 22 runs.  The shortstop’s performance earned him a promotion to the Vermont Lake Monsters.  While he struggled for the Class A Short Season team, he still showed signs of life driving in 8 runs with 17 hits in 26 games.

The 19-year-old Daniel will likely start the 2014 season with the Stockton Ports.  However, in order for Robertson to continue to advance on the road to the show he will need to be moved to a different position.  Addison Russell is Oakland’s shortstop of the future.  I expect the Athletics to start playing Daniel at 2nd base or maybe even one of the corner positions in the near future.

I am looking forward to seeing Daniel Robertson play with the Stockton Ports.  The 2012 Draft Class has be particularly exciting to watch so far.  Addison Russell has held up to the hype and Max Muncy, a 5th round draft pick, has surprised everyone with his performance.
