On Sunday night the Stockton Ports found life in their bats as the pounded out 15 hits on their way to crushing the Modesto Nuts 10 to 3. Bobby Crocker, 2 for 5 with a triple and a home run, and Dusty Robinson, 4 for 5 with a double and a home run led the charge for Stockton.
The starting pitcher for the Ports was Michael Ynoa. They treated this start like a rehab start scheduling Michael to pitch 2 to 3 innings, throwing around 30 pitches. He is still working his way back from a shoulder injury that occurred a couple of weeks ago. Michael pitched 2 strong innings throwing 29 pitches striking out 4 batters. Josh Bowman came on in relief and pitched the final 7 innings earning his 7th win of the season while striking out 5. This was yet another quality start from Josh who is 3-0 in his last 4 starts.
Tony Thompson, Bruce Maxwell and Wade Kirkland each chipped in 2 hits out of Stockton’s 15 hits. The only Port to not get a hit on Sunday was Antonio Lamas. He did get on base with a walk in the 6th inning. Antonio also hit a sacrifice fly in the 1st inning to drive in Bobby Crocker. Still it was a productive game for Stockton’s 2nd baseman.
The season concludes on Monday as the Ports face the Nuts one last time. Tanner Peters (12-7) is on the mound for the Ports as Ben Alsup (12-8) takes the hill for the Nuts.
On a personal note: This game was sadly my last Stockton Ports game of the season. I can’t wait until next season Stockton. Let’s Go Ports!
